Fossil Beach Farm is a professionally run, aboriginal owned, mixed use agri-tourism, orchard, and livestock farm on Hornby Island. Our farm offers unique waterfront accommodation, cider, and farm to table BBQ, set on the beautiful sunset side of the island. Come and share in our rich family farming history. Our location is truly one of a kind.

Fossil Beach Farm is seeking a food service provider or key employee for the 2024 season, to utilize farm fresh food, including the beef from our farm. Our farm to table BBQ operates May-Sept:

  • May 17-June 25: Sat-Sun 1-5pm
  • June 26-Sept. 8: Wed-Sat, 1-5pm, Sundays 1-8pm

After a successful 3 year arrangement with the current subcontracted provider, we are seeking new opportunities for partnership with like minded businesses or individuals. The previous arrangement has traditionally been a subcontracted company within our Island Health approved, basic, outdoor kitchen, with food prep being offsite in a commercial space, although we do have a small, approved prep space on site. Our previous season menu is available for review here.

Roles of Successful Candidates May Include:

  • Provide a Farm to Table menu during all operating hours
    • Including all Sunday Sessions (weekly event) and other potential in house events
  • Input/development of curated food menu 
    • Menu should perfectly pair with our farm fresh ciders and crafted non-alcoholic beverages
    • Menu should utilize beef from the farm as well as much from Hornby Island producers as possible
  • Prep and inventory of all consumables and service products
  • Provide required commercial small wares

Expressions of Interest May Include:

  • One page overview of proposed concept and financial proposal
  • Proposed structure (ie. subcontractor, stand alone food truck, key employee)
